A COHORT OF CHANGE-MAKERS
+
We at LEWIS are a centralized cohort of concerned citizens looking to foster more effective communication between police and the community. We serve as a beacon for meaningful collaboration toward a common goal of building a safer and more equitable society for all of us. We bring together progress-minded law enforcement officers, their departments and unions, social activists, legislators on both sides of the aisle, academics, and community members from all walks of life to address pertinent issues between police and the community; all of us collectively working towards meaningful change. The results are expressed in the initiatives that LEWIS supports and creates--from our BRIDGES Program addressing the way that officers interact with members of the community, to our research efforts improving the documentation of and communication between officers and civilians in critical everyday interactions like traffic stops. Across the board, LEWIS is committed to bringing together all stakeholders needed to address and solve for the equality and fairness that is rightfully all of ours in a thoughtful community-centric police system.

WE, US, OURS.
